Koen Van Assche

Koen Van Assche has devised and published a study method for carillon playing and teaches carillon at the Carillon School Jef Denyn and the Academies of Ghent, Haaltert (Ninove), Borgerhout and Lier.

Koen Van Assche is the carillonneur of the cities of Leuven, Turnhout and Herentals and a visiting carillonneur in Europe and the United States, where he has been invited to give recitals at three prestigious carillon festivals: Springfield - Illinois (1994, 2000 and 2005), Lake Wales – Florida (2002) and Berkeley - California (2003). He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Vlaamse Beiaard Vereniging and of the World Carillon Federation.

He has won several prizes at international carillon competitions. His carillon performances have been released on CD, including a full performance of Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons".

Every year, he organises and gives several classical concerts for carillon together with other instruments. He also arranges and performs famous romantic piano works.
