Thursday July 11 – qualifying round
Qualifying round on the concert carillon of St. Rumbold's Tower.
Listening place with visualization: Cultuurplein, 2800 Mechelen. Free admission.
The order of the candidates will be announced at the listening place which will be determined by drawing lots on July 9.

- 4 p.m.: deliberation by the jury
- 5:30 PM: announcement of the finalists and winner of the improvisation prize
Each candidate plays three works:
- The compulsory work: Rhapsody in Bronze - Joey Brink
- A prelude by Matthias Vanden Gheyn
- A work of the candidate's own choice from the repertoire submitted by the candidate
- Improvisation (optional)
In addition to the competition, the candidates can also participate in the improvisation competition. At the foot of the St Rumbold's Tower they receive a theme on which they have to improvise.
The announcement of the finalists and the winner of the improvisation prize will be announced at 5:30pm in the Mechelen Cultural Center (Minderbroedersgang 5). Afterwards, the Royal Carillon School 'Jef Denyn' vzw offers a reception in the KUUB, Minderbroedersgang 3A (bar at the Cultuurplein).
