Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens on March 15

From the age of 8, you can take lessons at the "Jef Denyn" Carillon School. No prior musical knowledge is required. Students under the age of 15 also receive music theory and piano lessons.
From the age of 15, you must provide a lower-grade certificate of a musical education. If you do not have a certificate, you will be required to take an entrance exam.
International students can follow the lessons in an intensive package. In consultation with the teachers, lessons are bundled into several sessions throughout the school year.
All lessons (with the exception of handbell choir and ensemble) are individual. Lesson times are arranged at the start of the academic year.
You do not need a keyboard at home to practice the carillon. You can come to the school to practice at any time on one of our 8 practice consoles or 6 pianos.

• Your enrollment is only valid after the enrollment fee has been paid and the registration form has been submitted. We do not accept culture vouchers (cultuurcheques). Please contact us if you are unsure whether you qualify for a discount.

* Discount Conditions

• Fully unemployed persons entitled to benefits: certificate provided by the VDAB, intended for Part-time Art Education (DKO).
• Certificate of "Living Wage" (leefloon) issued by the OCMW for the beneficiary and dependents.
• Certificate of Guaranteed Income for the Elderly (IGO).
• Recognized as a person with a disability receiving a benefit from the FOD Social Security.
• At least 66% incapacitated for work.
• Beneficiary of increased child benefit (recognized for at least 66%).
• Beneficiary of increased insurance reimbursement (mutual insurance certificate) or holder of an UiTpas with social status.
• Political refugees.
• Residing in a foster home, medico-pedagogical institution, or foster family.
• Under 18s if another family member has already paid.
• Under 18s if additionally enrolled in another artistic domain (music, word, dance, or image)
• Anyone following a music education at another DKO academy and who has paid the enrollment fee there is exempt from payment at the carillon school.
• Important Note: Certificates from the VDAB, OCMW, and mutual insurance must be no more than one week old at the time of enrollment.
