Programme and enrolment

Every stage has three years. For students who are younger than 15 years of age, the beginner's stage lasts four years.

 

Beginner's stage

Instrument-carillon (30 min)

Theory and technique of the carillon (30 min): only for students under 15 years of age

Harmony and handbell choir (1hr)

Piano-carillon (30 min): only for students under 15 years of age

 

Intermediate stage

Instrument-carillon (30 min)

Practical harmony and improvisation (30 min)

Campanology: history and science of bells and carillons (30 min)

Harmony and handbell choir (1hr)

Piano-carillon (30 min): only for students under 15 years of age

 

Advanced stage

Instrument-carillon (1hr)

Harmony and composition (30 min)

Campanology: history and science of bells and carillons (1hr)

Harmony and handbell choir (1hr)

Piano-carillon (30 min): only for students under 15 years of age

Improvisation

 

Enrolment

You can enrol in the Carillon School Jef Denyn as of the age of 8.

Students who are 15 years or older must present a certificate of the beginner's stage). Do you not have such a certificate? Then you will be asked to sit an admission test.

International students can follow an intensive course: the weekly classes are grouped in a couple of sessions during the school year.
